I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Causey family a few times now, and this session at Sharon Woods felt extra special. With baby number two on the way, we captured their final summer as a family of three—complete with creek splashes, belly laughs, and barefoot fun in the water.
Miranda was about 36 weeks pregnant at the time, and this session doubled as both a maternity shoot and a family mini. Logan, their four-year-old, was a natural in front of the camera—quick to explore, splash, and share smiles. We focused on a mix of parent-child shots, maternity portraits, and those sweet solo moments of Logan just being himself. Sharon Woods’ shallow creek made the perfect backdrop for a session full of movement and joy.
Watching a family prepare to welcome a new baby is always such a heartfelt experience, especially when I’ve been lucky enough to photograph them before. There’s a quiet beauty in freezing this chapter—right before life changes in big, exciting ways. These kinds of moments are what make summer minis so memorable: relaxed, real, and full of personality.
